Grenades, VOGs, drones, mines \u2014 at the front literally everything tries to disable your vehicle. Armored vehicles are in short supply, and civilian cars are often used. Casevacs, pickups, vans \u2014 target No. 1 for the enemy. Especially <\/span>vehicles for the Armed Forces of Ukraine<\/span>that work under fire every day.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

We've all seen the terrible photos of cars riddled with fragments and understand perfectly well what a threat to the life of the driver and passengers they pose. This inspired us to look for a solution. And armoring vehicles with soft ballistic packages helps prevent critical injuries!\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Three ways to position the armor\u00a0<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

Let us note right away that we do not perform the installation of the anti-fragmentation modules, but only manufacture them individually for each vehicle. To do this, it's enough to send us patterns \u2014 templates of the shapes of the parts that need to be protected. These can be cutouts of cardboard or another material. Making the patterns and modules takes approximately 10 business days or more.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Armor can be positioned in three ways:<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    \r\n\t
  1. Inside<\/b>. The modules are mounted inside the doors, under the hood and in other internal elements. Essentially this is hidden protection for your vehicle. In this case we recommend seeking help at a service station.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t
  2. Outside<\/b>. Mounted on the hood, roof, trunk, doors and fenders. In this case a service station isn't required \u2014 you can install the protection yourself.<\/span><\/li>\r\n\t
  3. Combined option<\/b>. The modules can be placed both inside and outside \u2014 for example, protecting different parts of the vehicle in different ways. True tactical adaptability.<\/span><\/li>\r\n<\/ol>\r\n

    You don't have to armor the whole vehicle \u2014 it can be individual body parts: hood, roof, trunk, doors, fenders, etc. Each customer decides for themselves what to protect.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Material of the anti-fragmentation modules<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

    Vehicle armor<\/span> is made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene. It is light yet strong \u2014 no loss in speed or maneuverability. Indeed, <\/span>armor for an SUV<\/span> (4 doors, roof, hood, fenders, trunk) is roughly 8\u201312 m\u00b2 of armoring. In kilograms that's ~40\u201348 kg for DSTU Level 1 and ~55\u201380 kg for Level 2.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Thanks to its structure, UHMWPE excellently withstands strong impacts, friction and chemical influences, so it is best suited for making vehicle ballistic protection. In addition, the material is flexible, so it can easily be adapted to different shapes.<\/span><\/p>\r\n

    Protection level and anti-fragmentation resistance<\/strong><\/h2>\r\n

    Vehicle armor <\/span>can be made to Level 1 or Level 2 protection at the customer's choice. The main difference is the number of layers of ballistic material, which directly affects the modules' ballistic and anti-fragmentation resistance.

    \r\n<\/span>Fragments can have different sizes, shapes, weight and speed. So there's no guarantee that the module will withstand any of them. But according to the results of testing in a certified laboratory, as well as tests conducted together with service members<\/a>, the DSTU Level 2 ballistic packages withstand:<\/span><\/p>\r\n
