Ukrainian Armor™

From the very beginning, the Russian-Ukrainian war revealed for us not only threats and challenges but also, in a certain sense, became a booster of development. The gradual buildup of the army significantly affected the state's level of readiness for the full-scale invasion by russia: our defense potential today is radically different from the capabilities of 2014. However, this war has once again demonstrated the necessity for Ukraine to form its own instruments for guaranteeing its security.

Ukraine's defense forces have already repeatedly demonstrated their skill — in the air, on land and on water. However, a crucial condition for realizing the potential of our servicemen and achieving the set goals is the availability of significant volumes of weapons, equipment, supplies, gear, and so on. Ukraine already covers part of these needs with its own resources today.

During the full-scale war, Ukrainian production of "Stuhna-P" anti-tank missile systems quadrupled, serial production of 60 mm mortar rounds was resumed, and production of 82 mm mortar rounds was established abroad. Domestic production of UAVs, which is now handled by over 100 companies, has also increased significantly. An increase in the production of armored vehicles, which is currently taking place at a minimal level, is also expected.

Many changes are also taking place in the production of body armor and gear. Companies are actively working on developing solutions that would protect our servicemen and help facilitate their work. This includes both the adaptation of foreign solutions to our realities and our own developments. In particular, Ukrainian Armor™ recently presented the first anatomical women's armor suit of domestic manufacture, "Ruta Liuta": the design takes into account all the nuances of women's physique, so it is not only lighter than the "men's" analogue but also noticeably more comfortable.

It's already clear to everyone that even after the war ends, the enemy won't disappear from our borders. And therefore we must think about our security not only within the front line. Ukraine is now actively working on ensuring the protection and resilience of infrastructure, production facilities, territorial communities, and so on. The problem of humanitarian demining of territories also remains urgent, and the buildup of capacity for carrying it out is happening very quickly.

This autumn, at the Bezpeka 2.0 exhibition, a number of Ukrainian developments intended to help in carrying out such work were presented. Companies are creating their own demining equipment, such as mine rollers for neutralizing anti-personnel mines and vehicles for going to the site of a strike and removing explosive elements. New gear for deminers is also appearing. At the exhibition you could see a special suit from Ukrainian Armor™: an "apron" that has soft ballistic protection over its entire area and covers the neck, torso and thighs from fragments. Also among the new products of Ukrainian manufacture is protection for media workers: body armor that can be additionally equipped with various pouches and a backpack.

The defense and security sector is growing, despite all real and potential difficulties and threats: new ideas and solutions are being formed to strengthen our army, civil protection, cybersecurity and body armor. During the full-scale war many changes have taken place, the main of which is the transition to a new level of professionalism. We learn from our own mistakes, adapt to circumstances and change approaches. Manufacturers rely on the modern experience of war, and therefore look for the newest solutions.
