The "Plashta" armor blanket — protection that saves lives
Most injuries that soldiers receive at the front are fragmentation ones. They are unpredictable because of the size, shape and even number of fragments, which is why there's a risk of receiving complex and multiple injuries: from through-and-through wounds to fractures of bones in several places at once and damage to internal organs. At the same time, danger exists constantly at the front: in open terrain, at positions, in a vehicle, and so on.
At the request of servicemen, we created the "Plashta" armor blanket. Its main advantage is a large area of anti-fragmentation protection at a relatively low weight.
Ways to use the "Plashta" armor blanket
Since soldiers receive 90% of wounds in war from fragment injuries, the first and main task of the "Plashta" armor blanket is protection against fragments. Thanks to its adaptability, it can be used in various situations and for various tasks:

Protection of positions
According to user reviews, the "Plashta" armor blanket is most often used precisely to protect positions: servicemen cover the entrance to a dugout with it and cover trenches from above, thereby protecting themselves from possible fragments and drops and at the same time reducing their visibility to the enemy.

Protection in an unarmored vehicle
No less popular a way of using the "Plashta" armor blanket is in unarmored vehicles. The blanket can be positioned both inside the cabin, in particular between the door and the driver, on the passenger seats and near the rear window, and outside, covering the vehicle during shelling.

Protection in open terrain
In open areas of terrain, soldiers are most vulnerable to injury. The armor blanket can be used to protect against fragments and to camouflage soldiers while at positions and during movement, as well as to cover the wounded during evacuation from the red zone.

The practicality and versatility of the "Plashta" armor blanket
There are global analogues of the armor blanket, but they are mostly used during demining to cover unidentified objects and devices when there is a threat of detonation.
We, however, developed "Plashta" precisely as personal protection with the maximum possible protected area but at the same time a comfortable weight. Yes, the size of the soft ballistic package in the armor blanket is 160×80 cm, and the protected area is almost 130 dm2. Besides this, the blanket:
- Is not afraid of moisture. The armor material is water-resistant, so it doesn't lose its protective properties even under water.
- Has thermal resistance. The blanket withstands an ultra-wide range of operating temperatures without losing its ballistic properties.
- Is flexible and adaptive. The "Plashta" armor blanket is quite elastic, so it can easily be adapted to different conditions of use and folded if needed.
- Has an improved attachment system. Along the edge of the product there are half-rings on a strap so that the blanket can be hung vertically.
Technical features of the "Plashta" armor blanket
To make the "Plashta" armor blanket we use Cordura 1000D fabric, which ensures the product's durability and resistance to external influences. The soft ballistic package inside the blanket is made of ultra-high-molecular-weight polyethylene. This is a light, flexible material with excellent properties: it is strong and able to absorb large impact loads without breaking, thanks to which it provides reliable ballistic protection.
