Ukrainian Armor™

The conditions of modern combat differ significantly from previous large wars, since defense manufacturing is developing at a frantic pace. Drones and artillery create a colossal threat of injury, in particular from fragments. It is precisely fragmentation injuries that soldiers mostly receive at the front. Because of this, there is an extremely high risk of receiving complex wounds: from multiple superficial injuries to damage to internal organs.

To minimize the threat of such injuries, it's necessary to increase the area of the body's ballistic protection while preserving maneuverability. Modern armor suits, developed taking into account the combat realities in which our servicemen serve — assault groups, infantry and special forces alike — are suitable for this.

What is an armor suit?

An armor suit is comprehensive gear that provides reliable protection of vital areas of the body from various types of ballistic injuries. Its construction consists of separate armored modules, among which there can be:

  • Neck protection NAM. Covers the neck 360°, protecting the throat, carotid arteries and the cervical spine.
  • Collarbone protection CAM. Covers the bone and arteries from injuries, preventing, in the event of a hit, a fracture of the bone and damage to vessels and nerves, and also serves as cushioning pads for the body armor or plate carrier.
  • Shoulder protection SBAM. Covers the biceps, protecting from injuries the shoulder joint, which directly affects the mobility of the upper limb, and the bone.
  • Abdominal protection SAM. Covers the abdominal cavity area, protecting from injuries the stomach, intestines, pancreas and kidneys.
  • Groin protection GAM. Covers the groin area, protecting the bladder, genitals and major femoral blood vessels
  • Lower-back protection LAM. Covers the lower part of the back and protects the lumbar spine and internal organs.
  • Tailbone protection BAM. Covers the buttocks, protecting the pelvis and partly the thighs.
  • Thigh protection TAM. Covers the outer part of the thighs and protects the leg muscles (quadriceps), thigh bones and arteries.
  • Inner-thigh protection ITAM. Covers the legs on the inner part and protects the hip joints and arteries, and partly protects the groin area from injuries.

To manufacture armor suits we use modern technological materials, in particular Cordura and UHMWPE, which provide reliable anti-fragmentation protection of the body, as well as strength and wear resistance to the products even in the harshest conditions. In addition, armor suits can be additionally equipped with ballistic plates, which have greater ballistic resistance and are able to withstand injuries from fragments and various types of firearms depending on the chosen protection class.

Types of armor suits

We develop 4 types of armor suits, differing in purpose, configuration and even in shape.

This is a modular armor suit consisting of a plate carrier and 8 anti-fragmentation modules with DSTU Level 2 soft ballistic protection, which provide optimal protection of all vital organs and vulnerable areas. The fully assembled "Liutobor" armor suit has a protected area of about 65 dm² and is suitable for defensive and offensive tasks.

The ergonomic design ensures optimal weight distribution and maintains comfort during active use of the armor suit with minimal impact on maneuverability. And the inner 3D Air Mesh lining works as passive ventilation, ensuring the removal of heat and moisture from the body.

This is the first women's anatomical armor suit of Ukrainian manufacture. "Ruta Liuta" was created taking into account the features of the female physique, so it fully follows the contours of the female torso, thanks to which it fits snugly to the body and covers all vulnerable areas.

The externally placed pocket for the ballistic plate helps avoid chafing and disruption of blood circulation in the chest area. The anatomical shape of the darts ensures a snug fit and protects against fragments getting into the gaps between the vest and the body.

"Ladomyr" is a modern armor suit that provides comprehensive body protection without affecting mobility. It consists of a plate carrier and 10 modules with DSTU Level 2 soft armor, so it protects the covered areas from ricochets, fragments of grenades, mines, artillery shells and other explosive devices, as well as 7.62×25 mm (TT) and 9×19 mm (Luger/Parabellum) bullets.

Each element can be used separately, in a set of several elements, or as a full armor suit. The simple attachment system lets you combine the armor modules with any vest of our manufacture.

The HDA anti-fragmentation kit is personal protection for humanitarian-demining operators, created together with industry experts. We involved military sappers, State Emergency Service employees and representatives of international mine-action missions in its development.

The kit consists of three parts that connect to each other with velcro and straps and significantly increase the chance of avoiding injuries during work. Its protected area is over 50 dm².

Advantages of Ukrainian Armor armor suits

A serviceman's full set of gear is quite heavy, so it's important to make sure the body armor doesn't hinder your work. Armored Suits of our manufacture are comprehensive solutions thought out to the smallest detail that will provide you with reliable protection and effectiveness in battle.

  • low weight and an increased protected area at the same time;
  • modern materials, in particular UHMWPE and Cordura, which have excellent properties needed for protection against fragments;
  • combinability — you can use all elements of the armor suit together or separately depending on your tasks;
  • a reliable yet simple attachment system for all elements.

All our armor suits have ballistic testing certificates from the laboratory at the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine according to DSTU and STANAG (anti-fragmentation resistance) standards, so you can be confident in the quality of the gear.

We offer armor suits of various formats, colors and sizes, so you can choose exactly the one that suits your tasks. You can buy body armor both online and in our network of offline stores in Kyiv, Dnipro, Bila Tserkva, Zaporizhzhia and Kharkiv. Our specialists are always ready to advise on any questions and help you choose gear for your request.
